There is a point in life when one is not quite as excited about a birthday as one was at the age of, say six or ten or 21. That was the case for me this week. I am now 54. For some reason, this 'feels' older than most of the other milestone years that have come and gone. I am already a member of AARP, so that is not causing any fear or trembling. I wonder what it is that is so disquieting this year?
Thankfully, it was a low key day, even though I wore a BIG birthday name tag at work the entire day. Coworkers today asked when was my birthday. Seriously? Yes, they missed the birthday pin, and missed the note on the schedule. I thought that was quite funny.
So, here is to another year, for the gift of time, adequate health and life are among the top ten things for which to be thankful.
Happy days to all!
