Doubly thankful today

My mother-in-law gave me a seat heater for my car. I plug it into the cigarette lighter. On those cold, cold days (think 10 degrees, or 10 degrees below zero) the bit of heat it gives off is so appreciated. On the way home, in the dark of early winter evenings, the heat feels great on my back. And I guess that is why it was still plugged in when I got ready to leave this morning. I must have REALLY been enjoying that extra bit of heat. And I was listening to a book, too. Anyway, when I unlocked my car this morning I saw that >gasp< I had not unplugged the seat heater last night. Usually this means a dead battery.

No! No! No! I have had to jump my car once this winter because I did not double check and unplug. And no one is home. No! No! No! But today, the battery was still OK! The car started and off I went to another day at work.

I am thankful my car started, even when I was just plain careless. And I really love that extra heat from the seat heater. I'll be using it again tonight.

I do hope I remember to unplug it tonight.
